Pastors Andrew & Kandyse Carter
Andrew grew up in a Christian home, but had grown lukewarm in his faith during his early teenage years. During a service at his home church, he had a radical experience with the love of Christ. After that he was never the same, and knew he had a calling into ministry.
Kandyse grew up in another denomination, in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, never knowing about the salvation that comes through Christ. After going through a lot of trouble and trials as a teenager, Kandyse was introduced to Christ at 17! She worked full time for a Christian boarding school in Alabama that specializes in helping troubled teens for several years. There, Kandyse helped teenage girls overcome the same issues she faced at that age, and encouraged and taught them about developing a relationship with Jesus. During this time, she knew without a doubt that God was calling her to be in full time ministry.
Andrew and Kandyse met at Rhema Bible Training College, and got married after graduating. They have one beautiful daughter together. They moved to Cincinnati in 2015, to launch City Pulse Church. They are both passionate about seeing people set free from the darkness that this world offers through the Love of Christ.
They are extremely excited about how God is going to use City Pulse Church to revive their community!
From a young age, the importance of church and a relationship with Christ were greatly emphasized in Molly’s life. But despite growing up with a solid background in the church, Molly had never truly believed it for herself. She began questioning everything she was taught as a child, and soon drifted away from the church as we grew into adulthood.
When she was a young adult, Molly found herself at her lowest point and with nowhere else to turn, however she remembered what she had been taught about God, and she cried out to Him. Since then, she’s never been the same. Shortly after that Molly attended Bible college, focusing on Children’s Ministry; and served as a missionary for 2 years. Including her most recent trip with World Race, taking her to 11 countries in 11 months. Her heart longs to see the children of Cincinnati walking fully in the freedom that a relationship with Jesus brings. Molly now oversees all the children's church departments at City Pulse Church, and is also the City Kid's Pastor.
The Bible is God’s perfect work, written to us to equip us for every situation we may face in life. The Bible is our final authority from God, and success in life is dependent upon it. (Psalms 119:60 Hebrews 4:12)
All have sinned, and fallen short of the Glory of God, But God demonstrated His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. There is one way to heaven, and that is through proclaiming and believing that Jesus is Lord of your Life, and that He died on the cross. (Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10)
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth, and everything in it. We also believe that all human life is valuable, and that God has a plan and purpose for each one, before they are even born. (Genesis 1:1, Psalms 139:13-15)
There is One God, the creator of Heaven and Earth, and He exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:27)
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as clearly mentioned throughout scripture. This is a free gift from God, as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers after He rose to Heaven. This is received subsequent to Salvation, and is generally accompanied by the evidence of speaking in tongues. We also believe that Healing is available through the work of the Holy Spirit on this earth. (Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts: 2:38-39, Acts 19:1-7 Acts 2:1-4, James 5:14, Mark 16:18, Isaiah 53:4-5)
The Bible teaches that without Holiness, no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification. We believe in Right living, that Grace is not a restaurant tab, in which you can keep sinning and God will pick up the check, but rather that through Christ we desire to live according to God’s principles because of the amazing gift of Salvation and Freedom we have been given. That Grace is an ongoing work, beginning with Salvation, and continuing until we depart for Heaven. (Hebrews 12:14 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Philippians 3:12-14)
Baptism in water by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, as Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36–39).
